Very HONEST and understanding seller, Item was shipped fast, Did have a problem, The mat was shipped in a box (from China) and got damaged because of the way it was folded. The seller gave me a fair damage refund for the it. The mat is not rubber it is plastic (called TPE) Not very thick Not to sure about the protection to the bed. I purchased some carpet tape to help secure it, hope that helps. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase because of the seller honesty in handling of the damage.
