Weatherstrip is not the same as in the 'Precision Manufacturing' videos
I got this kit for my 93 Dodge Truck because the company (Precision Manufacturing) has some really good installation videos, which show their product and how to install on the Dodge trucks, and I had used their door seals already, and were a good fit and quality seems good as factory, and installation video was spot on. It was a bit disappointed in this kit. The the door glass runs were not as thick as factory, and they are flat pieces of rubber and not in a 'c' channel shape (as shown in their videos and the picture in the Ebay listing), which makes installation way more difficult. You WILL have to remove the door glass all together to install this.. .something that is now shown in their videos. The piece of door glass run weatherstripping that goes into the vent window side channel, is ... You WILL have to remove the door glass all together to install this.. .something that is now shown in their videos. The piece of door glass run weatherstripping that goes into the vent window side channel, is pretty easy to install (once you fully remove the vent window) but you have to bend it into the 'C' shape as you push it into the channels in the door frame. The piece that goes along the top and runs down the latch side of the door, can only be installed with the window glass fully removed. Also the small metal rivets / clips are not well fastened into the rubber material, as I had one fall off in my hand as I was removing it from the package. You need to take special care on these, as it does not take much to dislodge them from the rubber gasket material. The 4 window belt line pieces (that clip horizontally inside / outside the door and go against the glass) seem to be well made, but are a PIA to install, as these seem to be thicker than factory, and the clips do not hold as well, especially the one on the end farthest away from the vent window. Because if the extra thickness the grab the window glass really tight, causing the glass to not roll up / down as freely as they should. (I expected it to be tighter than the old dry rotted factory ones, but not this tight. ) I have the power windows, and you can tell by the sound of the window motor, that its working really hard to move the window glass. I am not sure if "Precision Manufacturing' is the only ones that make the weather strip for the early Dodge Trucks (80's and 90's era), but if you can find another company, I would check them out first before buying this product from Precision Manufacturing. Again, their videos show installation of pieces that appear to be better formed and better quality that what you get in this kit.
