It has struggle to open and lock ?? I think it need to compatible in the right. GMC. My gmc not fit right so I gave to regular Chevy it work. Then mine. That why I ask to be sure right parts

Mixed feelings about a purchase
This item appears to be well made. The one big problem is getting the key lock to work. I'm a pretty strong guy, but I can't seem to lock and unlock it with assurance. So I just use it as a gas cap, only slightly tightening it to keep the gas in....but unlocked so I can actually get it open when I need gas. Perfect for broken gas door release.
Bought it for my 95 civic, the gas door release cord snapped. I was able to pop the door open and bend the locking latch to prevent it from locking while at the same time, able to close the gas door cover, which leaves the gas cap unsecured. This gas cap lock is the solution, I now just open the gas door cover with my finger and use key to unlock gas cap.
