    Jeep Oil Pump Drive Assembly

    The oil pump drive assembly by Crown Automotive has been re-engineered to correct the design flaw of the OEM unit (Mopar) where oil/lubrication does not get to the upper bearing. The OEM design places a seal before the bearing preventing adequate lubrication and causing premature bearing wear and failure. This will cause catastrophic failure of both the OPDA and cam gears which is a very expensive repair. Other replacement drive assemblies have duplicated the OEM design flaw where Crown has fixed the problem.
