On my 1st Geo Metro, I bought it with the inability to downshift to 2nd gear. The blocker ring was bad and I replaced it with one from the GM dealer. I ran that car for 103,xxx miles before I sold the transmission. It always shifted great. On my current Metro, I seemed to be the one who killed the 1st and 2nd synchro blockers as I lost the ability to downshift to one gear and then later, the next. I replaced them with ones from this kit. It lasted about a year and now I lost the downshift to 1st gear. 2nd gear is still working well. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the transmission or these things are just a really soft brass.
