Work just like the OE unit.
Part replaced the OE unit that had broken the plastic base that anchored the cable. It had the same OE fit and function. No matter what unit you buy, it can still be a bear getting the grommet seal properly installed from the inside with the aluminum brace in place.

Cost effective replacement.
This item replaced the original part in which that tabs that mount it to the truck broke off (after 23 years) while opening the hood. The most difficult part of the replacement was removing the grommet at the Firewall. I put some soap on the new grommet and it went right in. This was considerably cheaper than the OEM part.
