The pump has a 'buzz' on...
I purchased this power steering pump hoping it would fix a strange brake problem I am (still) having. I thought it was a great price for a genuine Ford remanufactured pump. The removal and replacement of the power steering pump went well after we found the proper puller for the pulley. (It is pressed onto the pump shaft and no fear of it falling off). Once the system was bled and topped off it was time for a test run. This pump is extremely noisy with a very pronounced whine/buzz at idle speeds which only gets louder under a load. The original factory pump made almost zero noise no matter the load or RPM. The noise is the main reason for my three star rating as the pump does everything it's designed to do. Noisy pump
This pump is very noisy even with proper vacuum bleeding if the system. I have now just purchased a new pump from a different company. I plan to throw this new “rebuilt” pump in the garbage. Don’t waste your money.
