    not an exact replacement

    I bought this for my 82 GMC 1500 pickup, which until this year was still trucking along with the original compressor. Application guide said this was good to go for my truck, but the inlet and outlet ports were slightly different. On my OE compressor, both the inlet port and the outlet port are recessed the same amount. On the replacement compressor, one port is recessed the same as my OE compressor but the other port is recessed about twice as much. Since this is the sealing surface for the o-ring seals, the extra depth prevents them from sealing. I have since learned that there is seal kit to remedy this problem ACDelco 15-20058. Sure would have been nice if this seal kit was provided with the compressor as is the case with some other sellers. Or, better yet, if the compressor ...
