Car Would Not Fire With This Distributor
The distributor I replaced had an intermittent OBD #8 code indicating a fault with the TDC sensor. I replaced my distributor with this one and the engine would not fire. I removed the TDC sensor from this distributor, installed in into my old distributor, cutting the wires in the harness and soldering them into the old distributor harness. Fortunately, the TDC sensor from this distributor was good and my problem is solved. The TDC sensor is not available individually and the price of this distributor was cheap enough that buying it as donor for the TDC sensor was not a bad deal. I had bought several other new aftermarket distributors that had bad crank angle sensors that I had to return.
