got these to add to the adjustment needs of a axle i had to change onto a 1994 ford thunderbird. the car is sitting on 500lb/in coil springs, tho these shocks add an additional 3 inches of rebound that the OEM model replacements didn't. spring rate seems to be near 70lb/in. before switching the shocks out the coils on the car were a combined 800lb/in and had zero movement when standing on the hitch. these being 3 inches longer with the sprung damper allow more movement. they bottom out at 1100lb
